Amisha Patel






Personal L ife
Amisha Patel (born June 9, 1976, also known as Ameesha Patel) is an Indian Bollywood actress. Making her acting debut in the blockbuster Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000), Patel won critical praise for her performance in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), which became one of the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema. She would subsequently star in a number of films, most of which proved unsuccessful at the box office. However, her performance in the 2006 film Ankahee, received critical recognition, and she followed it with a supporting role in the hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007).
Early life and family
Amisha Patel is the daughter of Amit Patel and Asha Patel, sister of Ashmit Patel and the granddaughter of the famous lawyer-politician Barrister Rajni Patel who was the Congress Pradesh Committee President of Bombay. She was born in the Breach Candy Hospital in Bombay and is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer since the age of five. Her name is a blend of the first three letters of her father’s name Amit and the last three letters of her mother’s name Asha.
She studied at the Cathedral and John Connon High School in Bombay and was head girl for the academic year 1992-1993 before heading overseas to study economics at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.
After she graduated, she modeled for several products and then worked at Morgan Stanley. After returning to India she joined Satyadev Dubey's theatre group and acted in plays, upon receiving permission from her conservative parents.
Acting career
Patel as the muslim girl Sakeena in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), her biggest commercial success which earned the actress her first nomination for Filmfare Best Actress Award.
Her father's schoolmate, Rakesh Roshan, offered her a position in the film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000) and Amisha grabbed the opportunity. The role of an exuberant college girl in love, undergoing a tortuous time at losing her lover and rediscovering a more mature relationship gave Patel scope to perform. The film was a smashing success and established Patel as a rising star, earning her awards for Best Debut at a number of award ceremonies. In her second film, the Telugu language drama Badri, she starred opposite Pawan Kalyan. The film was a major success, grossing more than Rs 120 million in India.

Genelia D'Souza





Genelia D'Souza (born 5 August 1987) is an Indian actress. She has appeared in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada language Indian films.
Early life
Genelia D'Souza was born in Mumbai, where she grew up. Her family hails from the Mangalorean Catholic community, a prominent Christian community in Bombay. enelia got her name from her parents Jeaneate and Neil and her pet name is Geenu. D'Souza studied at the Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra, Mumbai. She joined St. Andrews College, Bandra to pursue her Bachelor's Degree of Management Studies.
Other than doing films, she was also a state level athlete and a national level soccer player.
Career
D'Souza made her debut in Bollywood in 2003. Her first Hindi film was Tujhe Meri Kasam opposite Ritesh Deshmukh. She left Bollywood for a while to concentrate on the Tollywood Telugu industry.
She first hit the lime-light with a Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan and further did a Fair and Lovely ad with Krishnamachari Srikkanth. The Tamil director, Shankar, was very much impressed with her performance in both the ads and cast her in a leading role in his Tamil version of Boys in 2003. She was 19 years old while doing the movie Boys, she said on a Tamil interview. The film was a box-office hit and launched her career in south India.
She acted in some successful Telugu films including Satyam, Happy, Samba and Sye. She followed it up with a pairing with actor Venkatesh in Subhash Chandra Bose.
She returned to the Tamil industry with Sachein with Vijay. It was average at the box office. Her second Hindi movie was Masti and was also opposite Ritesh. This film was a moderate success. She played the role of Haasini in Bommarillu, which also starred Siddharth Narayan in the lead. This movie was a major commercial and critical success and she won the Filmfare Award as the Best Actress for her performance, besides other awards. She was also a part of Mani Ratnam's stage show, Netru, Indru, Naalai. She came back into Kollywood with Santhosh Subramaniam, which is the remake of Bommarillu. The film also turned out to be a rather successful as its predecessor. Her debut film in Kannada Satya In Love grossed 4 crores in its opening week thus setting a new record in the Kannada film industry.
She once again appeared in Bollywood in Mere Baap Pehle Aap alongside Akshaye Khanna, which was moderately successful. Her final breakthrough in Bollywood was through the blockbuster, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, where she is the heroine in the role of Aditi Mahant aka "Meow". Her role has been widely admired for her sweetness and freshness, and new style of acting. The movie has debutant Imran Khan, Aamir Khan's nephew, as the hero. The movie released in July 4, 2008 and was a success across India and overseas. Her career in South India also continues with her latest Telugu Film Ready becoming a major box office hit. Her next film It's My Life, which is again a remake of Bomarillu with Harman Baweja is to be released in 2009. She will also act in David Dhawan's next film which is called Hook Ya Crook opposite John Abraham and Uday Chopra for the first time which is a cricket film, the film will be released in 2009. She also has the other film on her hand which is to released by mid of 2009 which is titled Life Partner with Tusshar Kapoor
